Abstract: A block prior is proposed for adaptive Bayesian estimation of various nonparametric models. The posterior contraction rate is shown to be optimal adaptively for a large collection of Sobolev balls. If time permits, adaptive Bayesian estimation for sparse PCA will be discussed.
